Childhood Success Request for Proposals
Investment in childcare and early childhood education is crucial for the success of individuals and families in our community. Success in the early years leads to better preparation for school, greater academic success, and on-time high school graduation. Investment in childcare and early childhood education provides support for families and can drive economic growth in communities. These multi-year grants to nonprofit organizations are intended to support immediate, short-term childcare and early childhood education assistance for individuals and families in Douglas County.
Racial Equity Community Building Grant Request for Proposals
The 2025 Douglas County Racial Equity Community Building grant application is now available. Awards will be a maximum of $5,000.
Deadline is Friday, April 4 at 12:00 (noon).
United Way of Kaw Valley envisions a healthy and resilient community for members of all racial and ethnic backgrounds. The grant supports projects that build community, leadership, and direct support for marginalized community groups.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Funds will be invested in grassroots and/or community nonprofit organizations in Douglas County, KS, with projects focused on increasing equity and opportunities for local BIPOC communities. These grants provide support for organizations or individuals whose work benefits people with low incomes, communities of color, and historically and/or systematically marginalized people. Collaborative efforts and coalitions are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to organizations that are:
- Led by Black, Indigenous, People of Color with organizational mission and goals focused on elevating and increasing equity for their communities.
- Leading efforts that include community -building with and for BIPOC communities.
